Founder
Mike Duckworth in the President/CEO and Founder of MD EMR Systems. His healthcare career began in 1997, working at Christus Health in the radiology department, where he was quickly able to work his way up the corporate ladder. In 2006, he founded MD EMR Consulting (Which would later become MD EMR Systems), working with clients such as Johns Hopkins, HCA Healthcare, Medstar Health, Memorial Herman, GE Healthcare, Aids Healthcare Foundation, Legacy Community Health, and many others. Mike has experience in software design, project management, EMR Deployments, Patient Portal deployments, and he is still a certified XRAY technician. Mike primarily runs the back office of MD EMR Systems, using his years of experience to build a strong team and an even stronger company.
Matthew Wallace
VP of Operations
Matthew Wallace is the VP of Operations for MD EMR Systems. He began working with MDEMR in 2015, after graduating from San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Tx. He oversees the operations and project management for MDEMR, working directly with clients to ensure all projects result in a successful effort. With over 10 years of experience in customer services, sales, and operations management, Matthew is Mike Duckworth’s second in command when it comes to running the day-to-day practices of the company. In addition to his Healthcare and Customer Service experience, Matthew is a published author, and has performed standup comedy in major comedy clubs all across the United States. He has been designated as the company’s comedic relief when it comes to keeping a positive morale amongst the MDEMR team.
Matt Mckay
Operations Manager
Matt McKay is the Migration Manager for MD EMR Systems. He began working with MDEMR in early 2013, after graduating from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management. During the last two years of college, he attended UOI where he worked as the systems administrator for the athletics department. He is MDEMR’s lead operations analyst, overseeing all EMR migration projects. Matt also heads the efforts regarding MDEMR’s migration and archive strategy implementation.
Thomas Gish
Lead Developer
Thomas Gish is the Chief of Development for MD EMR Systems. He began working with MDEMR in 2012, after moving to Oregon from the Midwest, and has over 18 years of experience in software development. His vast knowledge in the world of information technology includes working on a localized search engine, developing donor management software for non-profits, building supercomputers at Indiana University and helping to integrate them into the TeraGrid, designing service-oriented web architectures, and, most recently, developing the MDEMR Archive application, which stores over 1 million patient records nationwide. He currently oversees all development efforts at MDEMR Systems. When he is not working vigorously on developments for MDEMR, Thomas is also a volunteer firefight.
Will Aufrance
Senior Developer
Will Aufrance is a Senior Analyst for MD EMR Systems. From 2009-2020, Will spent 11 years as a contractor with MDEMR, officially joining the team as a full-time employee in 2020. Prior to coming to work with MDEMR Systems, Will worked with NASA as one of the lead engineers for USA Space who helped develop the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station. In addition to being one of MDEMR’s Senior Migration Analysts, Will is also the lead developer that works to create and edit encounter forms for Athenahealth clients. Will also utilizes his great communication skills to assist with the MDEMR sales process and client relations.
Randy Liden
System Analyst
Randy Liden is an system analyst and data migration specialist who has been with MDEMR since 2015 and working in the industry since 2007. Before joining MDEMR, Randy worked with Lost Creek Consulting and as a contracted employee with GE Centricity Support. He is a 6-year Navy veteran as an engine room supervisor on a nuclear fast attack submarine. When he’s not wrangling with database queries, he enjoys playing the guitar, social gaming, and spending time with his family in rural Oregon.
Danny Duckworth
Lead Consultant
Danny Duckworth is a primary consultant for MD EMR Systems. He started in 2007 to help his brother (Mike Duckworth) start up his consulting firm. He has worked in the technology field since 1998, working with fortune 500 companies such as Halliburton, Shell, Pennzoil, Comcast and Time Warner. He is a Patient Portal Expert and helps run the MDEMR IT infrastructure. He stepped down as a full-time employee to open his own Jiu Jitsu gym, following his passion in the martial arts while still helping our healthcare clients.
